Sustainability is key in interior design. We have influence on our clients to help them make the right choices for the environment when specifying materials and finishes. Jonas Samson, a designer from The Netherlands came up with a design that is both functional and decorative. His light emitting wallpaper looks beautiful but it also has the potential to make lamps and lights a thing of the past as well as cutting carbon emissions. When turned off the wall is blank showing no sign of its functional purpose. I think it's a great idea and the possibilities with technology such as this are endless.

This was a prototype a few years ago now but perhaps one day in the not to distance future the way we light our spaces will change for ever.



I love this copper factory light from Historic Lighting. It would look stunning hung low over a dining table.



Work lamp designed by Form us with love, a Swedish design studio, for Design House Stockholm. Inspired by the clip on lamp cages often found in garages or in our case the loft, it is finished with gold or chrome plating, making it feel a little more special though keeping close to its roots.



Illusion designed by Hareide Design is a multi functional object. Part lamp, part table, it is designed to hover as if suspended in space creating an element of magic to its surroundings. Also jolly handy to put your glass of wine on as demonstrated!
