This year finally we will be finishing the kitchen, starting with putting in a much needed window. It's a small space but by ripping out the top half of the fitted kitchen, false ceiling and putting up open shelves, replacing nasty doors and putting in new sink, tap and appliances it is already vastly improved space to be in. The window will be the final element that stops this small room from feeling like a (very tall) cupboard. It's only 2.7m x 1.9m but i find that the space really works for me and I have plenty of storage meaning that I actually have more available work surface space than others often have in much larger kitchens.

Floor has been decided. Vibrant green rubber from Dalsouple This actually looks more lime on screen so not a true representation of the colour. It's lovely, honestly!

I would really love a concrete work surface but can't justify the expense in a small kitchen so we will probably opt for a white corian or stainless steel.

I may have mentioned I rather like plywood as a interior finish so we are considering a plywood finish. AFGH use of the material is spot on ( top below). If not we will stick with white plain handle less doors and a wood work surface.
