Since the phasing out of the incandescent light bulb there has been a need for the light bulb to undergo a reinvention. The humble light bulb is a beautiful but new energy bulbs are often ugly and awkward looking although I take acceptation to the one pictured above from Tesco which we have hanging in our hall. Housed in a giant bulbous casing it is actually a thing of simple beauty although this picture doesn't do it justice.

Anyway back to the point of this ramble. The PLUMEN 001. In their words 'it is the world's first designer low energy light bulb. And it really is rather lovely as well as saving 80% on energy bills and lasting 8 times longer than its old fashioned counterpart. Best of all it gives off a white but warm light. Many of the energy saving bulbs still create harsh, cold light. I think it really should be left bare to be appreciated and I will be getting one at some point although at £19.95 its not cheap so good job it lasts a long time!
